The Ski Bowl has been transformed into a great Nordic ski trail network – complete with FIS Standard Cross Country Ski Racing Trails and of course trails for all ability levels!  The Ski Bowl is still home to Alpine Skiing and snowboarding with the Village Chair and the the 46er Chair with access to the upper trails and lifts on Gore Mt.

New!   Town of Johnsburg Parks has constructed a new ice rink on the Basketball court and also a new sledding hill opposite the Schaefer Trail beginning.

When snowmaking, lights, grooming, and a pocket of well-designed trails unite, you get a one-of-a-kind Nordic facility. All levels of cross-country skiers can customize their outing with lighted tracks for evening fitness, varying inclines, and natural wooded routes. Use of Nordic terrain is included with all Gore Mountain lift tickets and season passes! Ask us about rentals and instruction if you’re just getting started. Gore Mountain Nordic Center – Ski Bowl Nordic – Open for Skiing!

Citizen Racing is On – Wednesdays at 6PM – Ski Bowl Nordic Registration will be on site this year before each race, beginning at 5:00 pm and running through 5:45 pm. Races will start at 6 pm each week. For the time being, registration will be outside under the open pavilion adjacent to the Lodge. Racers are allowed to use the Lodge, but must be masked.  Whether you decide to snowshoe, classic ski, or skate ski, and regardless of the number of loops you choose to race (1,2,3 or 4), you’re only competing against yourself week to week. The race loop will be held on our 1.2K Citizens’ Course, professionally groomed as always.  Raffle prizes to follow each race. Thanks to Becks Tavern, Cobble Creek Farm, and others for sponsoring our raffle! Also, thanks to Underdog Race Timing for being our timer again!

Early season storms quickly transform the Adirondack wilderness into a beautiful world of white mountain vistas and snowy woodland scenes. Garnet Hill Lodge is a true mountain resort where you can discover all the fun and adventure of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Enjoy miles of scenic groomed trails, take a ski lesson, or enjoy a backcountry ski journey. At day’s end find the warmth of friends and good cheer by The Log House fireplace.

Garnet Hill grooms 55 KM. of trails with track-set for classic ski techniques and ftee style skiing (ski skating).  In addition, Garnet Hill has a dedicated network of snowshoe trails that doubles as mountain bike trails in the off season.  Garnet Hill is at the edge of the 114,000 acre Siamese Ponds Wilderness area with 75 miles of mapped an marked backcountry ski and snowshoe routes.
In addition, Garnet Hill is a full service ski shop with rentals, lessons, sales and repairs.

This is were skiing began in the 1930’s!  The “Ride Up – Slide Down” backcountry skiing is still going strong!  Join us for a day of backcountry skiing on 75 miles of great wilderness ski routes mostly in the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area. 

When Conditions are good – the North Creek Business Alliance runs the Ski Shuttle from The North Creek Ski Bowl to Barton Road for access to Raymond Brook Ski Trail and Rabbit Pond Ski Trail.  For the latest information…(No Shuttle Scheduled for 2023-2024)

Raymond Brook Ski Trail

Raymond Brook Ski Trail is one of the Gore Mt. Region’s premier backcountry ski routes.  Beginning on Barton Mines Road in North River, the trail is connected to the Halfway Brook Trail and routes in the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area.  The Raymond Brook Ski Trail is located in the Vanderwhacker Wild Forest of the Adirondack Forest Preserve.  The trailheads at the Southern terminus of the trail are either on Rt. 28 near North Creek, or at the North Creek Ski Bowl via the Ski Bowl Connector Trail.  Click the button below or use the Interactive Map.
