You asked and we listened! Back for year two Coyote Club for Children at Garnet Hill Lodge!
Event Details
Ideal for kids ages 6-10-years-old, our Kids Program is part instruction, part play, and part exploration. Led by Garnet Hill PSIA Nordic instructors and licensed NYS guides, our Kids Club gives young skiers a chance to make some new friends, play games, and learn to ski at their own pace. We will start in one group, but split up with multiple instructors depending on ability levels – so all children can learn skills at their own pace. Lessons are limited to 10 children per class with a 1 to 5 ratio ( 2 instructors for 10 children). .
The Kids Program will run every Saturday from 10 am to noon – starting January 11th and will continue through February 8 ( parents should arrive with children no later than 9:30 am to fill out paperwork and pick up rentals and on the snow by 10 am). These dates depend on skiing conditions and weather. A snack is included midway through the morning.
Holiday Coyote Club: December 28, 29 and 30 (3 days total cost $160 with rentals/$125 without). And Presidents week February 14, 15 and 16. Cost: $45 without rentals; or $60 including rental skis/boots/poles or $300 for 6 weeks.
How to Signup? NO day of registration. To register, please call the Outdoor Center at 518-251-2150 or make a reservation via email to Michele Pearsall, Outdoor Center Manager, at [email protected]. Ten spots will be available for each session, so make sure you register today!

Linoleum Block Printing with Diane Castle Babcock
Reduction printing is a technique developed by Pablo Picasso. Rather than using a separate block for each color, Picasso used one piece of linoleum, which he carved and printed in stages to create a multi-color print.
In this hands-on workshop, Diane Castle Babcock will demonstrate and teach each step of the reduction printing process. Students will learn cutting and inking techniques, including rainbow roll printing, color registration, and color mixing. Diane has used this process to create her artwork for forty-five years. Students will create a three-color 4 x 6 inch linoleum block print with her guidance (you’ll make 6 prints, and hopefully a few will be really good).
Diane will supply all the tools and materials necessary to create your series of 6 prints. Students should come to class with a 4 x 6” landscape sketch using three colors plus white in the design, or use one of Diane’s scenes of the moon, white birches or lakes!
