March/April 2025 ~ New Classes at H’ART
Ongoing… Open Studio ~ Mosaics and Needle Felting! Create your own mosaic house numbers, tabletops, backsplashes, trays or stepping stones… or try needle felting!
When: on Thursday evenings, 6:00-8:30 p.m., ongoing, join any time, come when you can! (none Mar. 20,27) Plus new Thursday afternoon sessions, 1-4 pm
Who: Adults and Teens, beginner to intermediate
What to bring: just yourself, a snack and beverage
Fee: $20 per class, includes most materials, a variety of mosaic bases available, or bring your own! (See Sat. listing for an exhibit
opportunity!*)
Wednesday Watercolors for Beginner and Intermediate Artists
Whether you’ve recently taken up watercolors, or have been painting for years, it’s always nice to create together. Kate Hartley will lead some short group lessons each week, followed by time to work on paintings of your own choosing. Each class will begin with a short drawing or painting lesson, followed by still life, landscapes or portraits… come to any session, or all 7 weeks!
When: Wednesdays, 6-8 pm, Apr. 16 through May 28
Who: adults, and ages 10 and up
Fee: $100 for any 5 classes, or $25 per class ~pay when you can come! (plus $5/class material fee… or bring your own supplies!)
Earth Day~ Free Activity for All Ages~
PAPERMAKING – We’ll recycle paper scraps of all kinds, plus flower petals, yarn, lace, and more… and create new pieces of paper art! Bring some colored paper scraps, old schoolwork The project will take 30 minutes to 1 hour, so come any time during workshop hours.
When: 1-5 pm, Sat. April 26
Who: All Ages! (Children under 10, please bring an adult)
What to bring: paper scraps to recycle, and other flat bits (pressed flowers, leaves, etc) to add into your paper
Fee: Free! (Happy Earth Day from H’ART)
Spring Studio Saturdays for all ages: Mosaics!
3-5 pm each Saturday in April and May (except for our Earth Day Papermaking on Apr. 26)
Join Kate to create small masterpieces… and go home with a finished piece of artwork! $25* per person, materials provided. (Ages 8 and under, bring your favorite adult!)…
*Price is reduced to $15/class, if you’re creating a piece “inspired by the North Creek Mosaic Mural”… which can hang alongside Kate’s new work in “Faces of the NCMP, and New Mosaics” exhibit at Tannery Pond Ctr, Aug and Sept of this year!

Saturday, May 3, 2025 – 1PM-4PM
Join North Creek Farmers Market, Upper Hudson Trails Alliance, Music by the River, North Creek Rotary, Friends of Johnsburg Town Parks and Riverkeeper for Cleanup, Native Vegetation Planting, and nature trail work at Riverfront Park for the 14th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep.
Volunteers will meet at Riverfront Park, 21 Railroad Pl, North Creek, NY 12853.
There is a parking lot across rail line.
We ask all Sweep volunteers to also bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, and a face mask, work gloves and hand sanitizer. Please bring your own pickup and gardening tools.
