It’s time for Whitewater Fun!
Rafting and The 60th Whitewater Derby!
Get out and enjoy the river! The Upper Hudson River has it’s beginnings in the Adirondack High Peaks Region of New York. Gathering tributaries and volume, by the time it reaches Indian Lake – 16 miles from North River – it’s a world class wilderness whitewater adventure! The sport of whitewater boating has a direct link with the river log drives that used the Upper Hudson River as a highway to the mills in Glens Falls. After the log drives ended in the 1950’s – river drivers started the Whitewater Derby – now in it’s 60th edition! Always held the first full weekend in May (this year May 6,7), it’s a fun time for spectators and racers alike.
