History Days Johnsburg 2025: Five Fun Filled Days
Friday, September 12th, 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Gem Radio Theatre & the Johnsburg Historical Society present a Graveyard Walk at the Union Cemetery on Main Street, North Creek. Honoring: Wilma Schields, Joe Minder, Alice Ives, Nathan & Jabey Eldridge (Civil War Soldiers), & Mary Persons
Groups depart from the church parking lot every 15 minutes starting at 4:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Free Admission.Saturday, September 13th 10:00a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The Johnsburg Historical Society will host the Town Historian’s crafters & author exhibits as well as offer a free barbecue 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. and live music by Josh Clevenstine at the Robert & Electa Waddell House Museum, 2363 State Route 28, Wevertown, NY.
Exhibits include the history of the 21 common school districts within the town, North Creek High School, and Johnsburg Central School, a map room, library, & more. JHS’s 50-50 drawing will be held at noon.
2:00-4:00 p.m. Visit The North Creek Railway Depot Museum, 5 Railroad Place, North Creek, for the unveiling of the newly redesigned Theodore Roosevelt kiosk with a short program of speakers. The program is accompanied by live music by the Adirondack Bluegrass Band, & light refreshments, along with the announcement of a significant grant award that will support the museum’s future.
Sunday, September 14th, 7 p.m., The Tannery Pond Center, 228 Main Street, North Creek,
Glenn Pearsall will hold a short talk on “The American Revolution: What They Didn’t Tell Us in High School” followed by the movie “April Morning”, a fictionalized story about the battles of Lexington and Concord. A donation of $10.00 is suggested.
The Depot Museum, Gem Radio Theatre, and JHS events are all supported by a Town of Johnsburg Occupancy Tax grant. Thank you to the North Creek Baptist Church for the use of the meeting room at The Graveyard Walk. Donations are welcome at all events.
The Johnsburg Historical Society, North Creek Railway Depot Museum & The Tannery Pond Center are all non-profit 501(c)3 organizations.
Donations are tax exempt to the extent allowed by law.
