Meet Dr. Nina Schoch, Executive Director,
Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation

Dr. Nina Schoch has studied loons in New York’s Adirondack Park since 1998. A wildlife veterinarian and rehabilitator, she has written
many scientific and lay articles about the results of the Adirondack loon research. She received the 2018 Adirondack Research Consortium’s
Elizabeth Thorndike Adirondack Achievement Award, the 2011 NYS Outdoor Writers Association M. Paul Keesler NY Outdoor Citizen
Award, and was inducted into the NYS Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame in 2014.
The Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and inspiring passion for the
conservation of Common Loons. With the loon as its centerpiece, the work of the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation encompasses
scientific research; educational outreach to residents and visitors in the Adirondack Park; wildlife conservation training for college students
and volunteers; and conservation and management to help protect and support healthy populations of Common Loons in New York State and
throughout North America.
